For the fourth year, Dr. James Leipzig has been awarded a first place Best Bedside Manner Award for spine surgery from OurHealth Virginia. The accolade celebrates physicians and surgeons across all areas of practice who demonstrate the “empathy, kindness, and attentiveness” that help patients feel comfortable and supported, and who understand compassion is just as necessary as medical expertise. Members of the community select those they feel best capture this, and Dr. Leipzig, a spinal surgeon in Virginia, won first place.
“Spine problems and spine surgery can be quite stressful. It is an honor to be able to treat these patients and guide them toward recovery,” says Dr. Leipzig, who specializes in procedures including microsurgical lumbar surgery and minimally-invasive spine surgery.
